I had a back injury years ago. My only real limitation is limited walking for longer distances. So a scooter allows me to get further than I can walk. I never book a handicap room because there are many with more limitations. I am so glad there are so many ways for people with pretty severe limits.

Can a gift card not purchased through carnival (but has a carnival logo) be used for alcohol, bottled water, coffee and gift shop? Thanx

We’re doing a cruise on the Norwegian joy. To Tortola, st Thomas, stuurrup cay and puerto plata. We have a 16 year old in a wheelchair that we could transfer. Is this possible at these ports?

Question, how are special needs people supposed to go swimming? Is there a place to put your chair or are they not supposed to swim.

I have been on 10+ cruises, all on NCL going back to the “Norway” which has long been retired to China and used as a hotel. Your best tool is doing your homework prior to selecting your cruise and then speaking up while on board. Our recent (Nov’23) 15 day cruise was fabulous on the ship (the Getaway), but the ports often had sideways with no ramps, or ramps by the port but not later which resulted in difficult and frustrating turnarounds. It’s easier hiring an accessible taxi/guide on your own as the ship is 2x or more the price.

I will be on the NCL Jade in March 2025 in an Aft-Facing Penthouse Suite with Large Balcony and it is listed as a category SN with a less than 24hr butler and concierge. Which confuses me as NCL is saying it is not a Haven room! What will i be getting from a butler if I'm not in the Haven? The amenities list says I get 2 F&B deliveries during a 7 day cruise, but my cruise is a 10 day cruise, so will I get a third? What can I get? NCL phone reps are of little help.

We traveled on Discovery Princess (2022) with push wheelchair. ALL of the corridors ALWAYS had cleaning carts blocking them. It was very frustrating. Sometimes my wife was able to get out of the chair, collapse it, push through. But, whe now has an electric scooter which, obviously, is NOT colapsable (easily!). Have you had this kind of problem?

Hi Kevin and Frank, Annette and I love CWW. Insurance so very important to have we never cruise without it, as you know we cruised on the CWW 2nd group cruise, and we had a serious medical emergency, we had trip interruption coverage, which paid for medical personnel to fly back home with Annette, this was very expensive, so we were very grateful for that, on the other side dealing with the insurance company to be reimbursed has been difficult. I would still recommend 100% to get trip insurance. Love you both😊❤

I'll be in a WCA room on deck 9 and i remember going on the Pearl and to get to the Summer Palace restaurant i had to walk down, but on my next cruise on the Jade I will be using a scooter. Do you know if there is an easy way to get down from deck 7 to the Grand Pacific on deck 6 with the scooter or is the scooter left up on deck 7 somewhere?

Hi! I was wondering how the noise level was from the cafe above?

We are going to the Caribbean very soon on P and O Arvia which we booked 12 months ago, we have now been told that my wife cannot take her travel mobility scooter onboard or in the cabin they want us to hire a mobility wheelchair (extra cost)we booked a regular cabin as my wife can walk but not far due to bad hips. The travel scooter has been on various cruise ships in the past ( virgin, marella and msc) with no problems so I can’t understand their problem.

Would you know if Room 9648 would be the same as 9148. Thank you

What i don't get is why motels , Hotels, cruises and such have such high beds for those of us in chairs. i don't get to travel much anymmore since i had to give up driving due to eye problems. But it makes me nervous anymore to stay in motels because i can't get on the high matteress unless someone picks me up or pushes me on the bed. i have a hospital bed and live alone and handle everything fine at home. it would be nice if bed matteress were lower in the handicap accessable rooms.
